Apparently, his master was so impressed with his skill that he even offered his own daughter’s hand in marriage to the slave. Joyce refused his master’s offer and went back to his native town. Once he was back in town, he immediately searched for his first and one true love. Amazingly, it tuned out that she has remained faithful to him all the time he was away. He offered her the ring that he made, the ring that we now know as the Claddagh ring.
What the Claddagh Ring Represents
Silver Claddagh rings are meant to represent an important message once given to your loved one. The Claddagh ring is made up of several main components: the crown, the heart, and the two hands. The crown, which stands for royalty, is located on top of the heart design, which stands for love. The two hands holding the heart are representative of friendship.
